Vespers on the hills.

Today, July 20th, our church celebrates the memory of Prophet Elias. There is this little church on the hills of Ymetus above my house, and we went up there for the vespers ceremony. It is a steep path and not in the best condition and what makes it worse, we have high temperatures the last few days in Athens. They were still high in the evening. But we said we would give it a try. And the view from up there was rewarding.

I think these photos prove it was worth the effort and more so. It does look like a steep climb, but you are right the view is breathtaking. Your city is so large. I had no idea. The church, how beautiful it is. A nice celebration.

This little church, high in the hills of a land so far away, is, for one moment in time.. in my grasp, sight and mind.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey.
