The Streets of San Francisco (I). Οι δρόμοι του Σαν Φραντσίσκο (I).

The rain could not keep me away. It would be unthinkable to visit San Francisco for first time and not visit its trade mark. It was not a good day for sightseeing as you can see of yourself. The Golden Gate was the first stop. Some people stayed inside the tour bus but nothing could keep me there. And after walking around and on the bridge for 30 minutes, I came back soaked and shivering. And I was afraid I might have problems with my camera after it was exposed to the rain also. But it was OK. and it was worth being out in the bad weather.
Some facts : The Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937, and it was at that time, the longest suspension bridge in the world. It connects the northern tip of San Francisco to the mainland. Maximum length 1.7 miles, width 90 ft., height 746 feet, longest span 4200 feet, and it is probably the most beautiful and the most photographed bridge in the world.

Unfortunately, the weather is like that more often than not, but it does make the bridge all the more beautiful when the sun does shine! Terrific captures anyway of one of my most favorite places! Have a wonderful evening, Costas!

I'm sorry it rained on you in San Fran, but the bad weather and fog didn't seem to hinder your ability to capture these lovely images of "the world's most famous bridge!" P.S. more rain is on its way!

A shame about the rain but such amazing shots. Particularly like your Header photo. Such atmosphere.
You were definitely determined to get the most from your holiday, despite the weather! I would have felt the same aswell.
Enjoy the rest of your week Costas!

Costas, oh my rain, fog, does not matter in the least, for these are some of the best images of the Golden Gate I have seen in a long while. Your banner image done in sepia is splendid. I was born at one end of that beautiful bridge...a few years ago;)
