Views of the White Mountains.

I am never tired looking at them and admiring them when I am in Crete. Summer and winter.  The White Mountains of western Crete. The distance peaks still hold some of the snow it fell a month ago. A little lower of the closer peak at the left, there is a white spot against the darker side of the mountain. It is the little church where I took the photographs of the eagle last summer and which you can again see here.
The small village at the root of the mountains is the village I was born. It was covered in snow a month ago but it did not last long.
Another view of the mountains, taken from a spot closer to the town of Chania in Western Crete. Part of the suburbs of the town in shown.

Such beautiful landscapes. For whatever reason, I never thought of Greece as having snow. It's always a delight to see your pictures.
