Rethymnon, Crete. The Venetian Castle.

The Venetians had to fortify their colonies, building castles at all points of interest to them. This is "Forteza" the old castle of the town of Rethymnon, still in good condition.

Love the cool, cobbled path under the leafy trees. Your country looks so hot, and the trees make for a pleasante respite. Lovely.

Fantastic captures as always, Costas! And what a magnificent castle! Love seeing it from the different angles and perspectives. That is the reason it is like being there! Hope your week is going well!

I like every one of these photos! What a lovely spot. The details you've captured (the real stone streets, the edge of the castle) are magnificent.

What a wonderful place! I loved seeing it from your point of view. I noticed the outside floodlights - this place must be magnificent at night!
