My Little Olive tree in the pot. Η μικρή ελίτσα στην γλάστρα.

The little olive tree I have planted in a pot.. if full of buds, ready to blossom.

Η μικρή ελίτσα που έχω βάλει στη γλάστρα για να μου θυμίζει την Κρήτη, είναι γεμάτη μπουμπούκια, έτοιμα ν' ανθίσουν.

Hi Costas,

You have the right climate for olives . . . of course! I hope you'll show us the tree again as it changes with the season.

Lucky you with a blooming olive tree! I guess you have them outdoor through the winter. Here in Norway olive trees have to be moved to a cold place inside the house or orangeri. I love the pictures :)

I'm a constant olive oil user but haven't seen an olive tree yet. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all my friends for your visit and for your allways nice words.
@Nice A.. This is a miniature olive tree that I have in a pot.. mostly for sentimental reasons. I am trying to trim it and keep it small.. to fit in the little space i have for it.. Usually they grow big in Crete and other places in Greece where they grow, although the tendency now is to keep the trees an an olive grove smaller than they used to do in older times. They are more easy to control, to maintain and to collect the olives when it is the time to do that. Last winter my little tree produced 10 or 15 olives .. it looks like the production will be better this year. This variety of olive tree is making larger olives for eating.. not for oil production.. I will try to post photographs at different stages as the buds turn into flowers.. then olives till it is time to collect them.. so you see how they look..
And of course i will try to get some photographs of the bigger trees we have for oil production..
Have a nice day.. Costas
